| American Airlines sees rising cargo volumes |

International freight shipments by AMR Corporation's American Airlines unit showed strength in the first quarter, a trend that the head of the company's cargo division attributed partly to the improving economy, Dow Jones reported.
"The consumer is buying again," said Dave Brooks, president of American Airlines Cargo, although he noted that the airline's cargo volumes likely have been boosted as well because some air cargo carriers have parked freighters. |
